Pumpmonger’s Red posing. This is the second of the themes, where the character does a little flex routine (it’s a bodybuilding contest, afterall). Red doesn’t often let herself have fun, as there’s always someone in need over yonder, but somehow Nick managed to convince Red to pose for this. Nick kept telling me Red’s a beautiful and sensual lady underneath all that grime and monster bits, but by golly… I’m fangirly for her all over again! xD

Profile of Pumpmonger’s Red, the flame haired warrior. Red is my kind of hero - virtuous, strong and kind. She is also a tragic hero, whose path holds no promise of fame or glory, who is never really able to settle in any one place, nor lavish affection to any particular individual. Red carries the flaws of a human, yet her burden is beyond life and death. It takes a character of great strength to rise up to such a task, and Red is an inspiration.
This is the first of a series of pics that Nick and I are working on. The project is based on the themes for Maidens’08, which we thought was a good opportunity to showcase Red.

Commissioned by Pumpmonger of his epic warrior character Red, rescuing an Atlantean princess Nami. This is a scene from one of Nick’s many adventures of the heroine.
Red’s name was given by the Norse who adopted her, for her fiery red hair. She bares her heart always, for a curse that was put on her. A defiance to conventional depictions of warrior heroes, Red is a memorable character whom I hope to draw more of.
